A Recent Project
Located In Farnham, Surrey
The project consisted of an existing traditional farmhouse building. Some additions and alterations had been made over recent years.
The client requested a contemporary high energy performance home. To achieve the request a ground source heat contractor was appointed. To further increase the performance an insulated render was applied to some external elevations and external cladding with insulation fitted to the original masonry.

With a local architect appointed and the new footprint designed, works progressed with 50% of the original building being demolished, new concrete oversite with high performance insulation added. The existing cavity walls all filled with blown insulation. Additionally, a ground source electric heat pump and Solar panels located in a remote field has given the property "A-rated" energy performance. Externally, substantial alterations carried out with a large section of the rear garden reshaped to form a new large porcelain terrace with stone feature retaining walls to the boundaries, new steps to the existing pool area and surrounding terrace formed. The existing pool house elevations were stripped back and finished to match the house. To the front of the house a newly formed courtyard and parking areas finished in paving blocks. |
